The Art Learning Center is dedicated to providing a sanctuary for artists of all ages to create, express, and grow. It is our mission to impart the foundational skills of art, as well as building the confidence of each student. No matter what age, we accept all students and encourage every artist to discover their own unique style and viewpoint. We believe that artistry keeps our creative minds open and flowing to allow inspirational ideas to be delivered and shared. It is our goal to inspire our artists to explore their true potential and the intuitive nature of passionate creation. It is our belief that an artist lives within every soul.
The Art Learning Center offers drawing classes, watercolor art classes, acrylic paint classes, and pastel classes. Special instructors also drop in to teach music classes, felting classes, basket weaving classes, Ukrainian egg decorating classes, and one on one acting classes. This cozy space offers a fun, colorful, and peaceful environment for children art classes, teen art classes, and adult art classes. For Cindy Mitchell, art has always been her passion. From creating her own beautiful work in watercolors and oils, to teaching art for over a decade at Light of the World Academy, Cindy has found a strong calling and purpose in creating and teaching art. Luckily she shares that purpose with everyone she meets, and she positively impacts the lives of children, her collaborators, as well as community members.
Cindy had a dream: to bring the arts to the small community of Pinckney, MI. She was blessed and grateful to have spent the last two years providing art classes to youth and adults alike while also providing gallery showings of local artists in Livingston and Washtenaw county.

Providing a space for teens to come create after school nowadays is a luxury for a small community like Pinckney. Cindy is passionate about providing teen art classes to the teens in the area. She is also collaborating with Dawn Purcell, local performer and educator to provide open mic nights to high school aged students looking for a place to safely share their art with their peers. The Open Mic Night will take place on Tuesday evenings. Students are able to sing, recite poetry, and perform monologues to Purcell and peers.
Art class isn’t just for kids, but for us big kids too! Cindy has been happy to offer adult art classes in Michigan, and has seen some beautiful work created in the studio. She allows the adults to make their own choice of which skill to focus on, beginning a project and seeing it through to completion at the studio. Cindy does offer foundational building classes for beginners. To sign up for an adult art class, please visit our classes page and get started! If you have more questions, please give us a call. We would love to see you!
