Art Learning Center Policies

Potential students can either register for a class using our website, www.art-learning-center.com or call us to register at (810) 775-7977. Students are required to pay in full for the service that is selected at the time of purchase. Classes close for registration 24 hours before the class begins.

In the instance that a course does not meet 50% capacity to run, the class is canceled and refunds are distributed to those who registered.

BULK CLASSES: Students may cancel their spot in a class and receive a full refund for the bulk class package if they provide a written (email) or verbal (phone call/voicemail) notice 48 hours prior to the first class start time.

ONE TIME CLASSES: If a student has purchased a single class time (one that does not repeat for a multiple of weeks), they may cancel their spot in that class and receive a full refund if they provide a written (email) or verbal (phone call/voicemail) notice prior to 48 hours of the first class start time. 

This policy allows us time to address the cancellation, and open that spot up to the public as the cancellation may put the class below our 50% capacity requirement previously addressed.

In the instance of a school closing due to a snow day, the Art Learning Center will follow the school closings of the community schools of the city in which we are located. Our Howell location will close for the day if Howell schools are closed, and our Pinckney location will close for the day if Pinckney schools are closed. Makeup lessons will be provided for classes canceled due to snow days. 

The instructor is not required to offer a makeup lesson to a student who is a no call, no show. If a student purchases a bulk class package, and the instructor cancels class due to illness, a makeup lesson will be provided for you the week of December 4th at the same day and time of the bulk class schedule. If a student has purchased a bulk class package, and a 24 hour notice is provided that you will be absent due to illness, you will receive one total makeup lesson per bulk class package.

The Art Learning Center does not provide services to switch around a class date and time for any student if it does not work in their schedule. For example, if a single week class is purchased, but the student can no longer make it to the class, we are unable to roll that payment over to the class taking place the following week. If a student can no longer make it to the class you purchased, it is the student’s duty to call or email us to cancel according to our cancellation policy and ask for a refund. The student may then officially register for the following week’s class. This also applies to makeup lessons. Due to our schedule, we are only able to offer one makeup week at the day of the week and time of the original class purchased, and that week is the week of December 4th, 2023.

Please allow the instructor time to set up for the class and arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before class begins. In the past, students have arrived sometimes 20 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin which slows down the instructor’s ability to properly set up for the class in a timely manner. Please be courteous to the instructor and make your departure from the class in a timely manner as well as the instructor has to clean the space for the next class or to head home at the end of a long day of instructing. We encourage patrons to browse our gallery during the open gallery hours should those align with the class end time. Parents, please arrive to pick up your student at the end of class time.

Should any student encounter an emergency preventing them from attending their scheduled class time, please inform us as soon as possible and a refund may be provided given the severity of the circumstances of the emergency.
